The causes are many including declining hormone levels, stress, processed foods, alcohol and wear and tear. However, the good news is that the rate of decline is very much in your control. Q. Should I take some supplements? Some people tell me I don’t need them.

A. My answer to this is a definite YES, but select ones that you truly need and avoid taking excesses of any supplements. True in an ideal World be would not need any supplements because we would get all we need from our food intake. But how many of us consistently eat this well?

There are currently too many factors affecting the possibility of us getting all the nutrition we need from food, direct factors like processing, cooking, storage and pesticide, then add lifestyle factors like stress, smoking, alcohol, over medication… Read more

Q. How Do I Lose Weight From My Inner & Outer Thighs?

A. There are 3 key strategies for this. First on most weight loss plans the amount of fat being burned is tiny and so you never really get to the fat stores in these areas. This is one of the main reasons people ‘stick’ after 3 weeks – they were never burning much fat in the first place and were mainly losing water and some toxins and as I have said before you can only lose so much of this before your results run dry.

Second due to metabolism changes especially hormone imbalances that build up as you get older the access to fat in these areas is very … Read more

Previously I explained that it is best to imagine that there are 3 fuel tanks in the body, the smallest for fats, slightly bigger for proteins and the largest for carbohydrates. If you over fill any of these tanks at any given meal or in a 24 hour period or if you under fill any of these tanks in a 24 hour period you will get fat!

For example if you have a large breakfast of carbohydrates only – juice, toast and cereal, there is a good chance you will store the excess as excess weight. Likewise if you had a large meal of all proteins only, or all fats only, the excess over your needs will most likely be stored… Read more

There seems to be a lot of confusion as to the ideal food balance for weight loss. Low carb diets! High protein diets! High fat diets! High carb diets! There is an endless range of options, all claiming to be the new miracle for weight loss.

The truth is that the ideal balance should be based 1) on how much of each of these we actually need to maintain internal body functions and 2) on how much of each of these we need give us stable blood sugar levels throughout the day, giving us the energy we need but at the same time not adding to our fat stores and weight.

A good analogy would be that the body has 3 fuel tanks … Read more
